HELP! what is the best valued used car to buy?

I haven't had a car for last 10yrs. now I need one soon due to relocation to L.A. but I want to have an idea what is the best way to buy a used car or even lease a car? whichever is the best economic and not having to deal with car problems.|||Two suggestions:

1 Carmax or another no haggle dealer. Makes it easy and the price is good if not GREAT. You can get cheaper if you're a very good negotiator but you have to be very good and do a lot of home work to know what the value of the vehicle is and what the financing rates are.

2 Best used car value for the money is probably the Chrysler Pacifica. With 25 to 40K miles they are anywhere from 13,000 to 23,000 depending on options. It gets about 18 miles to the gallon city, 28 highway and sits 6 adults 7 children. Only negative on this vehicle is blind spots.

Avoid leasing if you want to have the car for more than three years. You can get into a nice car cheap but don't get any equity for the next vehicle and the purchase price at the end leaves you spending more than if you bought the car outright to begin with. If you plan on only having it a year or two it is a good way to go. Pay the extra up front for 15,000 miles. The 12,000 will get you started but you'll pay more for the overage.|||Get a Honda Civic. Great gas mileage like 35Mpg and will never break down. Long lasting. Also toyota corolla.|||Honda's are definitely long lasting. I know plenty of people who buy used ones.|||Honda's and Toyota's have some of the best long-term reliability out there.|||Toyota is very good.
