If I add leather to a car now (2007 car) and resell it in 4 years (as a 5 year old car) for about $8-9k (base model) how much more could I expect to add to price if it has the leather?|||if we knew the car it would help, one thing is for sure.....it is worth what someone wants to pay, which is also true for the car. But here is some usefull knowledge... every car and every option has a residual value attached by the manufactor of the car, meaning that if it is a toyota, persay, they already know that the car will be worth 25% of msrp in 5 years the leather is in the same category, so to answer your question..roughly 25% of what the retail value of the leather is should be expected.|||Hardly anything. If you added leather and sold it right away it might make a couple hundred dollars difference on the price (not the money you pay to have it installed).
In five years the difference will be negligible, but might help your car sell faster.|||A lot of it depends on the car itself. If it is a luxury model, then it is expected to have the better interior.
One way to find out, is to go to www.kbb.com and put in the car that you are thinking about and see what the value is with the leather and without. That should give you some indication.|||Nothing. adding leather will increase your enjoyment of the car but it won't increase the value of it 4 years down the road.
Neither will a fancy stereo or expensive rims. You do that for your own enjoyment, not to increase the value of the car. You can never recoup the price of accessories when you sell a used car.|||Adding leather may add about 500 depending on the car. Leather always adds value.
